Unincorporated Sector Booms in 2025, Survey Shows Significant Growth

The Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI) released the Annual Survey of Unincorporated Sector Enterprises (ASUSE) 2025 report, covering the period from January to December 2025. The survey reveals considerable growth in India's unincorporated non-agricultural sector, showing a 7.97% increase in establishments. Employment rose by 6.18% with 74.52 lakh new jobs, and Gross Value Added (GVA) grew by 10.87%. The survey also noted an increase in women-led enterprises to 27% and improved digital penetration with internet usage rising from 26.7% to 39.4% among establishments. The unincorporated sector, excluding construction, is vital for India's economy, contributing significantly to employment and GDP. Targeting establishments in manufacturing, trade, and other services, the ASUSE surveys economic and operational characteristics crucial for policy-making and supporting national economic strategies.
