The Union Minister of Finance and Corporate Affairs, Nirmala Sitharaman, announced two significant initiatives for the empowerment of divyangjan in the Union Budget 2026-2027. The Divyangjan Kaushal Yojana aims to provide industry-specific skills training for divyangjan in IT, AVGC, Hospitality, and Food and Beverages sectors, ensuring dignified livelihood opportunities. Additionally, the Divyang Sahara Yojana will facilitate the establishment of Assistive Technology Marts, enhancing access to high-quality assistive devices and supporting the Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India.
