Union Cabinet Approves Aatmanirbharta Mission for Pulses

The Union Cabinet has approved the Mission for Aatmanirbharta in Pulses, aiming to boost domestic production to 350 lakh tonnes by 2030-31 with an investment of Rs 11,440 crore. The initiative will benefit around 2 crore farmers through improved seeds, post-harvest infrastructure, and assured procurement. Key features include the distribution of 88 lakh free seed kits, establishment of 1,000 processing units, and 100% procurement of Tur, Urad, and Masoor at Minimum Support Price over the next four years.
