Union Cabinet Approves National Pulses Mission and MSP Increase

The Union Cabinet, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has approved the 'National Pulses Mission' aimed at increasing pulses production from 24.2 million tonnes to 35 million tonnes by 2030-31. Additionally, the Minimum Support Prices (MSP) for rabi crops have been significantly increased, ensuring farmers receive up to 109% returns over production costs. The mission is allocated a budget of ₹11,440 crore for 2025-26, reflecting the government's commitment to enhancing farmers' incomes and food security.
