Union Environment Minister Leads National Wildlife Board Meeting

The Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Shri Bhupender Yadav, chaired the 88th Meeting of the Standing Committee of the National Board for Wildlife in New Delhi. The committee evaluated 70 proposals for infrastructure development and public utilities in and around ecological zones, considering both ecological and community needs. Additionally, 17 defence-related proposals involving strategic infrastructure in Ladakh and Sikkim were reviewed. The meeting emphasized the necessity of ecological protection alongside developmental needs, guided by the Wild Life (Protection) Act, 1972.
