Union Finance Minister Holds Pre-Budget Consultation with States and UTs

Union Minister for Finance and Corporate Affairs Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman chaired a pre-budget consultation meeting with representatives from States and Union Territories with legislature in New Delhi. Various state leaders emphasized continuing the Scheme for Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment (SASCI) to promote asset creation and capital investment. The Union Government has already provided Rs 4.25 lakh crore as interest-free loans under SASCI since 2020-21. The Finance Minister assured that the suggestions would be considered in the upcoming Union Budget for 2026-27.
