Union Government Approves ₹887 Cr Marina Project in Mumbai
The Indian government has approved the construction of a world-class marina at Mumbai Harbour with a budget of ₹887 crore to boost coastal shipping and maritime tourism. The Viksit Bharat Mumbai Marina, under the Ministry of Ports, Shipping, and Waterways, will occupy a 12-hectare area and accommodate up to 424 yachts. The project consists of an investment from the Mumbai Port Authority and additional funding from a private operator, creating over 2,000 jobs and promoting Mumbai as a global maritime hub.
