Union Health Minister Reiterates Commitment to PC&PNDT Act Implementation

During the 31st meeting of the Central Supervisory Board, Union Health Minister Shri J P Nadda emphasized the need for stringent enforcement of the PC&PNDT Act, 1994, to combat gender-biased sex selection. The meeting highlighted improvements in the Sex Ratio at Birth (SRB) based on the 2021-23 SRS data and discussed strategies for enhancing awareness and capacity building among stakeholders. The Minister called for ongoing workshops and effective actions to address emerging challenges in the digital era, ensuring the health and well-being of the girl child remains a priority.
