Union Health Ministry Launches AI Training for Doctors

Smt. Anupriya Patel, Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, has launched an online training program on Artificial Intelligence in Medical Education, developed by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS). The program aims to equip around 50,000 doctors with fundamental AI knowledge to improve its integration in healthcare delivery. Over 42,000 doctors have already registered for the program, highlighting the critical role of AI in enhancing healthcare. Health officials stress that AI should augment rather than replace medical professionals, emphasizing ethical and accountable use.
