Union Minister Approves Development of 76 Passenger Holding Areas

Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has approved a plan to develop 76 passenger holding areas at various railway stations across India, aimed to be completed before the 2026 festival season. The new areas will follow a modular design and be constructed based on local conditions, inspired by the successful Yatri Suvidha Kendra at New Delhi Railway Station, which can accommodate 7,000 passengers. The initiative aims to enhance passenger comfort and streamline movement during peak travel times.
