Union Minister of State for Law and Justice, Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal, issued the first instalment of Rs 401.50 crore under the Centrally Sponsored Scheme for Development of Infrastructure Facilities for District and Subordinate Courts for FY 2026-27. The funding aims to enhance court infrastructure throughout India. A proposal is underway to extend the scheme till 2030-31. The initiative includes the construction of new court halls and residential units while introducing a new component, 'Waiting Hall for Litigants'.
