Union Minister Chairs Meeting to Enhance GBS for Northeast Development

Union Minister Shri Jyotiraditya M. Scindia chaired a Consultative Committee meeting to discuss the implementation of the 10% Gross Budgetary Support (GBS) for the Northeast region. The meeting focused on improving inter-ministerial coordination, expediting grievance redressal, and ensuring effective utilization of GBS to achieve tangible development outcomes in the Ashtalakshmi states. Since 2014, the average GBS utilization has exceeded expectations, reaching up to 114% in certain years, highlighting the government's commitment to the development of the Northeast.
