Union Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya inaugurated a 30-bedded Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) Hospital in Ompora, Budgam, Jammu & Kashmir. This marks the first ESIC hospital in Kashmir. The hospital is expected to benefit over 50,000 workers and their families, enhancing healthcare and social security under the Labour Codes. Dr. Mandaviya highlighted the significance of valuing workers' dignity for national progress and noted India’s improvements in social security, recognized globally with awards. The hospital, costing ₹165 crore, can expand to 100 beds and is part of the government's commitment to improving worker welfare through modernized labour codes.
