Union Minister Manohar Lal Meets ADB President Masato Kanda to Discuss Urban Development

Union Minister Shri Manohar Lal met with Mr. Masato Kanda, President of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), to discuss ADB's support for India's urbanization efforts. The meeting focused on potential investments in mass transit systems, inclusive housing, and urban sanitation, aligning with the vision of 'Viksit Bharat 2047'. Both officials emphasized the importance of integrated planning and the Urban Challenge Fund to enhance project bankability, with a view to transforming urban services in 100 Indian cities. The Minister expressed interest in ADB initiating demonstration projects as models for future urban development.
