Union Minister Releases Report on India's Textile Waste Value Chain

The Union Minister of Textiles, Shri Giriraj Singh, released a report titled "Mapping of Textile Waste Value Chain in India," highlighting India's efforts and achievements in textile waste management. The report reveals India's generation of approximately 70.73 lakh tonnes of textile waste annually and discusses the recovery and recycling efforts. India's spinning sector sets a benchmark in circular production with near-total reintegration of spinning waste. By 2030, the textile recycling market in India could grow to USD 3.5 billion, potentially creating nearly one lakh green jobs.
