Union Minister Reports on Recruitment and Achievements in EMRSs

Union Minister of State for Tribal Affairs, Durgadas Uikey, reported in the Lok Sabha that 7,083 teaching staff were recruited through ESSE-2023 for Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS), with 2,765 being female. The report highlighted the service conditions governed by the National Education Society for Tribal Students (NESTS). The success rates for Class X and XII students were commendable, with several achieving 100% results and significant numbers qualifying for IIT-JEE and NEET. EMRS also promotes various educational and extracurricular initiatives, such as the JAYAKAR Programme with ISRO and skill labs focusing on STEM education. Additionally, efforts are in place for the health screening of students for Sickle Cell Disease.
