Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal Sets Goal for NMHC Completion Amid Global Collaborations
Union Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, Sarbananda Sonowal, has reviewed the progress of the National Maritime Heritage Complex (NMHC) at Lothal, setting July 2026 as the target for completing its first phase. The minister emphasized the significance of the NMHC in showcasing India's maritime heritage and announced that India has signed about 10 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with various countries to enhance global collaboration for this project. Countries involved include Netherlands, Denmark, Germany, South Korea, UAE, and others. The effort aims to position the NMHC as a pivotal center for maritime history and tourism.
