Unveiling the Role of Magnetic Fields in Star Formation
Researchers from the Aryabhatta Research Institute of Observational Sciences and Assam University have, for the first time, visualized the magnetic fields surrounding molecular clouds L1604 and L121 near the Milky Way disc. This study highlights how these magnetic fields contribute to star formation by dominating gravitational and turbulent forces, illustrating the foundational role of magnetism in the universe's developmental processes.
