Update on Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G)

The Ministry of Rural Development continues to implement the Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G) to assist rural households in constructing pucca houses with basic amenities. The scheme, initiated in April 2016, aims to achieve 'Housing For All' by providing support for 2.95 crore houses from FY 2016-17 to 2023-24, with an additional 2 crore houses approved for FY 2024-25 to 2028-29. As of July 29, 2025, 3.84 crore beneficiaries have been sanctioned, and 2.81 crore houses are completed. The process includes mandatory geo-tagging of construction stages via the AwaasApp.
