UPSC Introduces Real-Time Face Authentication in 2026 Civil Services Exam

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducted the 2026 Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination across 2,072 venues in 83 cities on 24 May 2026. This year, in a significant move to enhance exam integrity, UPSC introduced real-time face authentication for the first time to prevent impersonation. The measure is part of a broader push to enhance transparency and security, which also includes the release of a provisional answer key and additional exam centres for decongestion.
