Upskilling of Ekalavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS)

The Ministry of Tribal Affairs has announced various initiatives to enhance the educational opportunities for tribal students through Ekalavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS). These initiatives include the introduction of skill-based subjects, digital coaching for competitive exams, smart classrooms, and vocational training labs. The EMRS scheme has been revamped to ensure better governance and uniformity, with a focus on teacher recruitment and training. As of July 2025, 479 EMRSs are operational across the country, with additional schools under construction.
