Vibrant Villages Programme Approved for Comprehensive Development

The Government has launched the Vibrant Villages Programme (VVP) to enhance the development of select border villages in India. VVP-I, approved on February 15, 2023, focuses on 662 villages in five states, aiming to improve livelihoods through tourism, skill development, and infrastructure. VVP-II, approved on April 2, 2025, expands the initiative to additional strategic villages with a budget of Rs. 6839 crore until 2028-29, covering various states and union territories.
