Vice Admiral Krishna Swaminathan Named Chief of the Naval Staff

Vice Admiral Krishna Swaminathan has been appointed as the new Chief of the Naval Staff by the Indian government. He will succeed Admiral Dinesh Kumar Tripathi upon his retirement at the end of May 2026. Swaminathan, an experienced naval officer with a specialization in Communication and Electronic Warfare, has previously served in various key positions, including commanding the Western Naval Command and serving as Vice Chief of the Naval Staff.
