Vice President Briefed on Tribal Affairs Ministry’s Key Initiatives & Achievements

The Vice-President of India, Shri C. P. Radhakrishnan, was briefed by Union Minister for Tribal Affairs, Shri Jual Oram, on various initiatives aimed at improving the welfare of the tribal population. Key highlights included a three-fold increase in the budget for tribal affairs over the past 11 years, the need for stronger university-school linkages to enhance tribal enrollment in higher education, and efforts to combat sickle cell anaemia in tribal areas. The Vice-President emphasized the importance of ensuring that welfare benefits reach all tribal communities to achieve the vision of a developed Bharat.
