Vision 2030 for Textile Industry: Mission for Cotton Productivity

The Ministry of Textiles has announced a five-year 'Mission for Cotton Productivity' aimed at enhancing cotton productivity and quality in line with Vision 2030. The mission focuses on strategic interventions, including research and development of climate-smart, pest-resistant, and high-yielding cotton varieties. A special project has been initiated to demonstrate best practices in major cotton-growing states, with a total outlay of Rs. 6,032.35 lakhs. The mission aims to boost farmers' incomes and enhance India's textile sector's global competitiveness.
