Vizhinjam International Seaport Expansion Inaugurated by Sarbananda Sonowal
Union Minister for Ports, Shipping and Waterways, Sarbananda Sonowal, inaugurated the capacity augmentation works for the Vizhinjam International Seaport in Kerala. The expansion includes Phases II, III, and IV of construction, designed to significantly boost India's container transshipment capacity and efficiency. The project aims to enable the port to accommodate next-generation container vessels and enhance India's maritime competitiveness globally, aligning with the national Maritime Vision 2030 and Amrit Kaal Vision 2047.
