The Government of India is implementing various employment generation schemes to support unorganized urban workers. Key initiatives include the Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maan-dhan (PM-SYM) scheme, which offers a monthly pension of Rs. 3000 to eligible workers over 60 years old. Additionally, the National Career Service (NCS) portal provides comprehensive career services. The Multidimensional Poverty Index (MPI) framework, developed in 2021, measures poverty through various indicators, with the second edition released in 2023.
