Wi-Fi Facility Benefits Farmers Through BharatNet Project

The BharatNet project aims to provide broadband connectivity to all Gram Panchayats and villages in India, with over 6,26,055 villages already having internet access. The project has commissioned 13,01,193 FTTH connections, enabling farmers to access online services for education, health, governance, and commerce. Various initiatives under Digital Bharat Nidhi are enhancing mobile coverage, including the installation of 21,748 mobile towers. The government has allocated Rs 3000 crores for extending BharatNet to improve connectivity for institutions and households. Additionally, over 3,53,105 PMWANI Wi-Fi hotspots have been established across the country.
