Yamuna Manthan-2025 Conference: Addressing Pollution in the Yamuna River
The Ministry of Jal Shakti has highlighted the alarming pollution levels in the Yamuna River, with only 13 out of 33 monitoring stations meeting bathing standards. Key pollution sources include untreated sewage discharge and lack of effluent treatment plants. The National Mission for Clean Ganga is funding 35 projects under the Namami Gange Programme, aimed at rejuvenating the river with a total investment of ₹6,534 crore, of which 21 projects are completed. The government is actively monitoring these initiatives to combat pollution.
