Boost in Odisha's Fish Production under PMMSY

The Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY) by the Government of India has significantly bolstered the fisheries sector in Odisha, leading to an increase in fish production from 8.18 lakh tonnes in 2019–20 to 11.92 lakh tonnes in 2024–25. The program has seen investments of ₹1,301.30 crore, with initiatives to support infrastructure development and empower women in the industry. Additionally, the program has financed cold chains, processing, and packaging projects to further enhance operational efficiency.
