Cabinet Sanctions Rs. 3,900 Crore for Semiconductor Units in Gujarat

The Union Cabinet, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has approved two significant semiconductor manufacturing projects in Gujarat under the India Semiconductor Mission (ISM). With a combined investment of around Rs. 3,936 crore, these projects aim to establish India's first Mini/Micro-LED display facility and a semiconductor packaging facility. Expected to create over 2,230 skilled jobs, the initiatives involve Crystal Matrix Limited's integrated facility for Mini/Micro-LED fabrication in Dholera and Suchi Semicon Private Limited's OSAT facility in Surat. These projects, part of 12 approved under ISM, complement India's growing semiconductor design capabilities.
