CBIC Implements Reforms to Boost E-commerce Exports

The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) has implemented significant reforms to enhance e-commerce exports, effective April 1, 2026. These reforms, aligned with the Union Budget 2026-27, include removing the ₹10 lakh value cap on courier export consignments, simplifying logistics, and introducing a Return to Origin (RTO) mechanism. These measures aim to support MSMEs, artisans, and start-ups by improving trade efficiency and India's competitiveness globally. The changes involve amendments to regulations and a focus on streamlining processes to reduce transaction costs and dwell time, boosting the ease of doing business for exporters and logistics providers.
