CCPA Issues Advisory for E-Commerce Self-Audit on Dark Patterns

The Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) has mandated e-commerce platforms to conduct self-audits within three months to identify and eliminate deceptive design practices known as Dark Patterns. This initiative aims to enhance consumer trust and ensure compliance with the Guidelines for Prevention and Regulation of Dark Patterns, 2023. A Joint Working Group has been established to monitor violations and promote consumer awareness regarding these practices.
