Delay in Jurisdiction Notification for KRMB and GRMB

The Ministry of Jal Shakti has faced delays in notifying the jurisdictions for the Krishna River Management Board (KRMB) and the Godavari River Management Board (GRMB) as stipulated under the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, 2014. These boards, constituted in 2014, are meant to oversee projects on the respective rivers for effective administration and regulation. Although jurisdictions were officially notified in 2021, the full handover of projects had not been completed by the deadline in October 2021. Ongoing discussions aim to address these issues. The update was provided by Minister of State for Jal Shakti Shri Raj Bhushan Choudhary during a Lok Sabha session.
