DRDO and Indian Navy's Successful Launch of NASM-SR
The Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO) and Indian Navy carried out the successful maiden salvo launch of the Naval Anti-ship Missile-Short Range (NASM-SR) from a helicopter platform off the coast of the Bay of Bengal in Odisha. The test, marking the first salvo launch of its kind, involved two missiles launched in quick succession. All test objectives were achieved, demonstrating the missile system's precision and waterline hit capability. Developed in collaboration with various DRDO laboratories and produced with the assistance of Indian industries, this advancement promises to significantly enhance the capabilities of India’s defence forces.
