Employment Rate of Trained Youth under Skill Development Schemes

The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) has reported a significant decrease in the unemployment rate among youth aged 15-29, from 17.8% in 2017-18 to 10.2% in 2023-24, attributed to various skill development initiatives under the Skill India Mission. The PMKVY scheme has successfully placed over 2.4 million candidates, while new programs under PMKVY 4.0 focus on future skills in AI and digital technologies. The National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS) continues to support apprenticeship training, with financial assistance provided to apprentices. The Minister's Internship Scheme aims to offer internships to one crore youth in top companies over five years.
