India Tests New Cell Broadcast System for Rapid Disaster Alerts
The Department of Telecommunications, in collaboration with the National Disaster Management Authority, is testing a new Cell Broadcast System across India to improve real-time disaster alerts. This system, developed by the Centre for Development of Telematics, aims to enhance the speed and effectiveness of alerts during natural and man-made emergencies. Recipients of these test messages, sent in English, Hindi, and regional languages, are advised that no action is required.
