Indian Government Cancels Licenses in Fertilizer Crackdown
The Government of India has intensified its measures against fertilizer hoarding and black marketing by canceling over 6,900 licenses. The Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, with support from State Governments, continues to enforce the Essential Commodities Act, monitoring actions weekly. Urea, DAP, MOP, and NPKS availability has been adequate throughout the Rabi 2025-26 season, supported by continued implementation of the Nutrient-Based Subsidy Scheme to keep fertilizers affordable.
