The Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India, has launched the SMILE–Beggary Survey Mobile Application during the Chintan Shivir held in Chandigarh from 24th to 26th April 2026. The app is part of the SMILE–Beggary Sub-Scheme, aimed at comprehensive rehabilitation of persons engaged in begging. It enhances real-time data collection and monitoring, ensuring accuracy and transparency in reporting. This initiative supports the Government's vision of a 'Bhiksha Vritti Mukt Bharat' and aims to reintegrate individuals into mainstream society with dignity.
