Ministry's Initiatives Ensure Open Access to NSSO Data with Enhanced Data Security Measures

The Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation (MoSPI) has made unit-level data from National Sample Survey Office (NSSO) surveys freely accessible via its website, coupled with comprehensive guidelines for its usage. An innovative data extraction tool accompanies the data to facilitate easier handling and analysis. To maintain confidentiality, anonymization protocols are strictly adhered to, and encrypted data transmission through CAPI software ensures data security during field collection. Training programs and financial support have been provided to state statistical systems to improve their operational capacities. Furthermore, efforts to improve the quality of data in the Annual Survey of Industries include the introduction of a web portal, multiple validation checks, and regular conferences and training sessions for stakeholders.
