National Panchayati Raj Day to be Celebrated Across India

The Ministry of Panchayati Raj is set to commemorate National Panchayati Raj Day on 24th April 2026, marking the 33rd anniversary of the 73rd Constitutional Amendment Act, which empowered Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) across India. The event at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi will feature a message from Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and presentations from PRIs representatives from Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Haryana. Nationally, Gram Sabha meetings will reaffirm grassroots democracy. Reports and books on rural heritage will also be unveiled.
