NHRC Investigates Deadly Fire Incident in Palam Area of Delhi

The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) of India has initiated a probe into a tragic fire incident at Palam, South-West Delhi, which resulted in the death of nine family members and injuries to three others. The NHRC took suo motu cognizance following media reports which detailed the alleged failure of a hydraulic crane, leading to a delayed rescue operation. Notices have been sent to the Delhi Chief Secretary and the Police Commissioner to submit a detailed report within two weeks, including the status of compensation for victims.
