Progress Update on Summer Crop Area Coverage

The Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare has released the latest figures for summer crop area coverage as of May 1, 2026. The report shows variations in crop areas when compared to last year's data, with notable increases in the area dedicated to pulses, coarse cereals, and oilseeds, while rice shows a slight decrease. The overall area sown this year totals 81.60 lakh hectares, marking an increase from the previous year.
