Reform Linked MoUs Signed with Mizoram and Ladakh Under Jal Jeevan Mission 2.0

In a continued effort to implement the Jal Jeevan Mission 2.0, Mizoram and Ladakh have signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with the Union Government. This initiative aims at ensuring sustainable and community-led rural drinking water service delivery. The MoUs focus on Gram Panchayat-led water governance, aligning with the Jal Jeevan Mission 2.0 objectives to provide safe drinking water to every rural household by 2028. This reform-centric approach emphasizes community participation and structural reforms to enhance the operation and maintenance of rural water supply systems. The signing event, facilitated by the Ministry of Jal Shakti, was attended by notable government officials from Mizoram, Ladakh, and the Union Government, underscoring a key step in achieving 'Har Ghar Jal' across rural India.
