Shri Chanchal Kumar Becomes Secretary of Ministry of Information & Broadcasting

Shri Chanchal Kumar has taken over as the Secretary for the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting as of April 1, 2026. A 1992-batch IAS officer from Bihar, he succeeds Shri Sanjay Jaju, who is now Secretary in the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region. Kumar brings extensive experience from his previous roles in various ministries and state positions, including his academic background from IIT Kanpur and Patna University.
