Shri Vishvajit Sahay, a 1990 batch officer of the Indian Defence Accounts Service, has been appointed as the new Secretary (Defence Finance) in the Ministry of Defence as of 1st May 2026. He succeeds in this role after his tenure as the Controller General of Defence Accounts. With more than thirty years of experience in Defence Finance, Sahay has held several significant positions across various government departments.
