The Department of Social Justice & Empowerment, led by Union Minister Dr. Virendra Kumar, has increased its budget to ₹2042.08 crore for FY 2025-26. This funding aims to improve educational opportunities for students from Other Backward Classes (OBCs), Economically Backward Classes (EBCs), and De-notified, Nomadic, and Semi-Nomadic Tribes (DNTs) through various scholarship and 'Top Class Education' programs, which saw significant increases in expenditure from the previous year.
