Skill Upgradation Initiatives for Women in Rural Development
The Ministry of Rural Development is implementing skill development schemes under the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana - National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NRLM) to empower rural poor youth, particularly women. The DeenDayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY) focuses on providing employable skills to youth aged 15-35, with a significant emphasis on social inclusion. The Rural Self Employment Training Institutes (RSETI) offer training for self-employment and entrepreneurship. As of June 2025, 17.51 lakh candidates have been trained under DDU-GKY, with women comprising 51.7% of the total.
