SVAMITVA Scheme Drone Survey Nears Completion in India

Under the SVAMITVA Scheme, the Ministry of Panchayati Raj has targeted covering nearly 3.44 lakh villages with drone surveys to issue property cards. As of now, 3.28 lakh villages have been surveyed, nearing 95% completion. The scheme, aligning with the 7th Schedule of the Constitution, treats land as a State subject, and thus, legal measures fall under individual State Acts. The Ministry collaborates with states to facilitate bank loans using property cards through forums like the State Level Bankers Committee. The Union Minister provided these updates in a recent session of Rajya Sabha.
