Implementation of Aadhaar-Based Payments in NREGS
The Ministry of Rural Development has mandated the Aadhaar Payment Bridge System (APBS) for the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (NREGS) starting January 1, 2024, to ensure timely wage payments and reduce issues related to bank account changes. APBS enhances transparency, accountability, and reduces corruption by ensuring that
